With roots firmly established in the rail sector, we’re immensely proud of our journey to becoming the UK’s last remaining independent wagon manufacturer.
Our story began in 1908 when WH Davis was formed as a company for repairing and later manufacturing small, wooden-bodied mineral wagons on the railway. The idea was to combine quality engineering and expertise to develop superior, cost-effective manufacturing solutions for the UK rail freight industry.
As the rail industry transformed, so has WH Davis, through ongoing investment into new technologies, processes and partnerships and is today the only independent freight wagon manufacturer in the UK.
